The Headwaters Chapter of Delta Waterfowl

Our Annual Dinner and Auction is a little over a week away, get your tickets now!
I post it here in Hunting 101 because while Delta Waterfowl is the Duck Hunter's Conservation group, we are also a voice for all hunters and shooters. Last year Delta spoke at 191 presentations to all levels of government across Canada. Speaking in regards to discharge areas, Sunday Hunting, gun control, etc. We speak for all hunters and shooters. Our prizes at our Dinners and Auctions demonstrate that in the variety, it's not just Waterfowl guns.

We will have confirmed more guns to be awarded this year than we had last year, and 1 in 9 attendees won a new shotgun or rifle at last year's dinner! There is also a wide variety of other hunting gear, and non-hunting gear to be awarded.

Delta's Mission is to put 1 Million more into the flyway each year. Funds raised go to Delta to support the wide variety of programs offered, the education, and research. We also keep funds locally that we use to support our efforts. The Headwaters Chapter has provided education to various groups. Including the 2nd Listowel Scout troop and Perth County 4H, with whom we also built Hen Houses and Wood Duck boxes. With another local conservation group, upon request from a teacher we took grade 5 students on an Outdoor Education your, focusing partially on duck ID, and the need and purpose for Hen Houses. The youth were lucky enough to find a Mallard nesting in one of our tubes while on the tour. We also shared photos from inside the boxes of nests with eggs.

The dinner will once again be provided by The Listowel Agricultural Society, always a great meal with no need to be hungry afterwards.
