They must be migrating. For the last week or so, I have had 3 or 4 landing on my backyard grass every day. I've been in this Mississauga home for 30 years and this is the first year Timberdoodles have visited.

been a really wet summer think most traditional areas will be to wet to hunt. Come the 25th going to start hitting spots I don't usually go until the fall rains start
Just got back yesterday from a few days up in WMU28. Dry as a popcorn fart on all the trails that normally have water flowing across them, although its 2-3 weeks earlier than we normally go. We potted 17 grouse, not including the one that flew into the truck when we went to Quebec to get beer. Only a half dozen ruffies, the rest were spruce. Usually its the other way around. Fresh moose sign on the sand trails every morning when leaving the cabin. Sunny and warm, didn't waste any firewood this trip.
wish I had the fortitude to drive long distance. Find after a couple of hours had enough. That's the good thing about woodcock sooner or later they got to past this way.Quote:
