Good Day At Highpoint

My friend and I took Indiana Bones to Highpoint for his first true hunting experience! He did fairly well, a little over exuberant at times and needed to be reigned in but pointed well on multiple birds, was steady to flush which was all I could ask for and did amazing at retrieves. We came home with a mixed bag of birds (2 pheasant and 5 chukar). Lost a few as they would flush towards the neighbouring hunters car or flew too low that shots were not safe. But there were plenty of birds lots of good shots and some good times. Thanks to Andy Rennie for an awesome day afield, we will definitely be going back again

Indy's in a good place entering his first season. Showing steadiness to flush is huge. Don't worry if he breaks to wing or shot this fall. Have fun, both of you!

Sounds like things are coming along.
Nothing beats getting the dog out and putting some birds in front of him especially in the more controlled environment of a game farm.

Thats why I thought, right before the season opens up, getting him into some guaranteed controlled birds would be a good idea
