First bird hunt of the year

First bird hunt of the year in the books. Cover is tall, green and awful. Stella is in heat so we could only take her, would've been nice to run both dogs. 1 grouse and 2 woodcock but zero opportunity to pull the trigger with how thick the cover is. Tons of vultures in kettles (saw one group of what must've been 50-60 birds) so the migration is definitely underway... me and boy picked up a pair of rats today, time to start trying to trap a hawk for the season.
