Change a name and imagine all the paperwork that has to be scrapped and changed. Sounds like the military, time to reorganize.
I'm interested to know why (and more importantly who) thinks this legislation needs to be changed. It seems to me that the old adage fits perfectly here "if t ain't broke, don't fix it".
Species Conservation Act doesn’t seam as harsh and won’t raise alarm of the general public as the Endangered Species Act will.. A bit of camouflage here…
Just standard operating procedure for the province. In the 25 years i have been running my business the provincial ministry with jurisdiction has changed names numerous times. Started out as the Ministry of the Environment then changed to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change then changed to the Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks. Same rules and the bureaucrats and staff on the ground were the same but the moniker changed to fit the whims of the current politicians and whatever they deemed as politically correct.
My guess is that they will water down the legislation as it’s viewed as a barrier to development and investment. Trump did something similar when he gutted the EPA and rescinded regulations.
