I have not seen this posted on this site. However, I apologize if I missed it and I am repeating. I just confirmed that Kanata is getting a BassPro. You can also go on line and see that Bass Pro confirms the rumours as well.

It had been mentioned maybe 8-12 months ago - not recently though since its not really news anymore. Supposed to be located north of the 417 across from the Canadian Tire Centre.
and although not as big as the one in Vaughan it is still huge, I thing 120,000 SF
Been to many Bass Pro locations across the US, but only to the Vaughan store in Canada. All I can say is the Vaughan store is really nice, just "buyer beware". They stock most of the cool stuff, it's just sometimes and for no reason, the Canadian pricing is just out of hand. I live in Windsor, and work over in the US less than 10 miles from the BPS in Auburn Hills, so I know that store inside out as well as the pricing for things that I look at. So when I see things I like in the Vaughan store I know if it's a good price, or a rip off. I like the Las Vegas store the best of all of them though. Looking forward to the Cabela's opening in Barrie though, since Cabela's Canadian pricing seems to be really good.
Want a Leopuld scope...drive to Dicks Sporting Goods or Gander Mountain in Watertown, NY...1/2 the price compared to Ottawa locations...
I always find it interesting to see the excitement over one of these big-box stores opening up.... Not that I do a lot of shopping.. (I avoid it like the plague), but I'll deal with a small mom-pop shop any day of the week... even if it costs me a few more bucks, or I need to wait for an order to come in. Luckily there's still a bunch of them around... Hopefully that continues. Just a small town boy, I guess???
Went to Bass pro in Vaughn a couple of weeks ago. The service is the very worst, we had a cart loaded and only two checkouts were open. About a 30 to 45 minute wait. We went over to the gun counter, there was a line up of 12 people and only one service person. That's just bad business, we left everything there and went down the road to Sail. We received excellent service and actually scored a number of deals that were much better. For me that was my last trip to Bass Pro, Sail is a Canadian company with superior service. Mind you, my friend said in the USA, Bass Pro has very good service.
