Happy People A Year in the Taiga

Just watched a very nice movie documentary called Happy People A Year in the Taiga. It's about Russian trappers who live in the Taiga. The main character is a really cool guy. If you have Netflix check it out! I think any hunter will like it.

Ive seen this a few times. Its a great film. Werner Herzog is an amazing filmmaker

I watched it 3 times. I am sure anyone on a hunting/fishing forum would enjoy it. Those are tough people that live a tough life.

The mosquitoes in the summer there are nuts! Good thing summer is so short. Everything they do is for survival and they are tough as nails. This is definitely one of my favorite films. Very interesting to see them survive and how efficient their traps work.

I wish you all could watch it in Russian, English translation is not very good. It's also 4 hours long.
Herzog didn't make it, he merely 'created' the Western version.
The original idea belongs to Michael Tarkovsky (related to famous Andrey Takrovsky), who lives in Bahta (the village).

Here's a video depicting fur trappers journey to their hunting grounds in Siberia.
The trip there takes more than one month (up river), the trip back is under one week (snowmobile) in -40-50 C
Something quite incomprehensible to us, I think.

Thanks for the tip about the movie. Watched it Sunday night for the first time and really enjoyed it.
