Go Pro video setting..

Hi all,
Dont really know if i'm in the good category, if not im sorry :p
Alright I just bought a new Go Pro for hunting and fishing and some other outdoor stuff. I was a bit curious of what setting you use with your diffrent actions cameras to get your best video.
I'll probably go test it while ice-fishing next week, will try to post a video of it :eek: If I can edit it...

What type did you get? I have mine setup @720p at 60fps, use for fishing and hunting. If uploading on YouTube fps does not matter cause it gets put to 30fps no matter what. But differences between 720p and 1080p are not noticeable and will not take up as much space on your memory card.

Thanks Kit, I got the 3+ Silver Edition and I did some testing today and saw no big diffrence between 1080 & 720...just like you said :thumbup:

Unfortunately this is true of most sites, even smugmug with paid accounts, can do 1080p but anything over 30fps they will drop it down.

Pretty much only way to preserve / share the video in its raw/natural state is to host it yourself.

That being said, if you are viewing on your home set, and it's of quality, there is a noticeable difference between 720 and 1080.

If you got the 3+ you have the option to shoot in 4k (ultra high def over eight million pixels (3840 x 2160) which is about 4x higher than 1080p.

Again, you need to have a set capable of viewing it to take advantage.

Thanls TR but the 4k resolution I think is only for the black edition if i'm not mistaken

It's best to play around with it, different settings and different ways to aim it around. Takes a bit to learn what the field of view is, unless yours is capable to use an iPhone as a viewfinder... I forget the specs of the white silver and black gopros.

I love mine (the previous version). It's TOUGH. I hammer it all year on the motocross track, usually mounted to my chest so it's peppered with rocks all the time. Mud, sand, water etc etc. I've never had a case break, and I've never had my video skip through any of the rough crashes I've had.
