There is a small town just outside of Kitchener towards Stratford called Petersburg .have a friend who claims there is crown land there where you can hunt.tried looking it up but only got info on dog walking?looking at the map in the regs I cant quite figure out witch wmu the area is anybody know the area?
I don't think there is any "crown" land in that area... I expect your friend is referring to the "Petersburg Regional Forest" which is one of the "Region of Waterloo" forest tracts.... There is some information at the attached link -- Pg 27 ... and I'm pretty sure it's in WMU 80

There is crown land outside Petersburg and it's in WMU 80. Hunting is permitted there but there's LOT'S of dog walkers, and I do mean LOT'S. Most are from the city too so you know what that means, lol
its good to hunt if you're looking for squirrel, crow or groundhogs. coyotes out there too.
be prepared to go for a long walk though. if you bring a gun, i bet you'll be eyed down and even stopped. i'd keep it in a sock till you're away from the main trail. i bring a bow every once in a while and people are fairly nice when they do stop to talk. not a great spot, but take what you can get, hey?

drive a little further and go to the gadshill swamp or the ellice swamp.you will have to get a permit from the upper thames conservation authority.if you join the friends of the swamp for $10 you don't have to pay the user fee.
