What kind of knot it used on a spreader. I bought a cheaper ct one and the hooks are already dull because of the white fish bones in the top of their mouth. They won't even hold a point with a stone. Time for better hooks. Any recs on pound test of line to use?
I always use a simple clinch knot with 8lb flouro. Spend a little extra on good hooks and they will be sharp and wont bend. Never have a problem this way. I like to hook all 3 minnows differently so I know they will sit different on bottom ensuring some visibility no matter how the spreader sits

I was always taught to use a higher test line or something more ridged in order to keep the
hooks pointing straight out from one another....obviously avoiding tangle ups.
Hooks...not sure.

FSHN 247 nailed it on the head. I do this setup for blue channel catfish with a 3-way swivel. I tie a lighter line for my sinker and heavier line for my hook. The heavier set line will allow my bait to stand out straighter.
