Hey guys. My buddies and I are looking to try some new and exciting spots for perch. We normally fish Mitchell's Bay in Lake St.clair, but we want to go for a day trip somewhere else. I was thinking lake Erie around Long Pointe. Or Simcoe. I know of a few key spots to hit on Lake St.Clair for perch, but I would have no Idea where to Even start around Long Pointe or Simcoe. Think anyone could pointe me to where we might have a good day?

One of my favourite lures for lake trout is a swim bait paired with a Freedom Tackle Hydra weight and hook. The action is so real in the water and you can really work it in the water column. I usually tie mine on with a fluorocarbon leader 5-6ft and braid on my main line. This combo works deadly in the winter time and early spring.

southern buck google lake simcoe fishing forums, go to the forum and start reading, lots of places on simcoe to catch perch. west side. south side, east side and north side. so do some homework and make your choices after that, she's a big lake.
I fish off Willow beach mostly, about a 20-30 minute walk out and drill your holes, and hope for the best. best depths for me have been in the 20-30' range....

if your fishing simcoe for perch i would suggest cooks bay north of gilford,there is perch there year round.
Now that I've been to both several times, I prefer Simcoe. I wouldn't go so far as to say "guaranteed", but even on slow days there's always some kind of action. But it depends on how far you want to drive. Long Point is closer, and an easier drive from London. It's a reasonable day trip. Simcoe is just a little far for a day trip IMO. Fortunately, as of this year, I have someplace to stay on the east side of Lake Simcoe, so I've been a few times. I know there are a number of good spots nearer to you on the west side of the lake though.
Was he referring to long point , and the town of simcoe , both on lake erie , I think. Old243
Simcoe is terrible for perch this year. The best jumbo spot thats full of them and low pressure is bay of quinte
