sonic cleaners what do you guys like and why ???????

im looking to buy a case cleaner and some people ive talked to say tumblers tumbler with stainless steal pins work the best just wondering what you guys use and like mayby some pointers can be in order ??? after im done cleaning i like to reload right away . how do you dry the cases quick >>>> oilman

I have been looking at them as well, youtube has some good video's. Right now I have the case tumbler from Lyman and it works really good with the cob media, not as shiny as walnut media, but clean none the less. The solution is about the same price and lasts just as long in reviews. Seems pistol shooters use the sonic cleaners more than rifle shooters, as many cases can be put in at once. I can do about 125 with Lyman .30 cal all types.

I have been using an Lyman vibratory tumbler for 40 plus years , I put my brass in overnight with ground walnut shells or corn cob media and in the morning the cases actually look better than new , very shiny and clean and dry .

I use the corn or walnut media tumbler thing myself. I have thought of getting a sonic cleaner, but I think it would be not use all the time.

What I mean by that is just like my car/truck I can run it thru the corner car wash( media tumbler) but once or twice a year it goes to a dealing shop. The media clean great, but every once in a while I would run the brass thru the sonic cleaner.

Oh by the way Corncob or walnut media can be used to clean shotgun hulls, but don't try that with a sonic cleaner. The cleaning liquid is like half water. You know what water will do to a wad base made of paper or fibre.

Making your own tumbler for stainless pins is both rewarding and economical. I clean about 1000 cases at a time. There are all kinds of ideas on the net. You will love how clean they come out. I have thousands of cases so waiting to dry is not an issue. you could use a fan, hair dryer of oven. I was going to try the clothes dryer with cases in a pillow case set to no tumble (when the better half is not home)

I use a tumbler with the red treated media. Never seen cases come so clean after 4-6 hrs! Im not overly sold on the sonic cleaners...
