Heading up to temagami this Friday, just curious if anyone knows how the fishing has been up there recently. I've never been so any tip/tricks would also be greatly appreciated.

Friend of mine posted yesterday on his Facebook that it has been the toughest fishing he has ever had there. Been chasing lakers for a few days. Eight paramedic buddies of mine that have been going for years just spent 3 days there last weekend... caught 9 lakers total and nothing over 5 pounds.
Temagami is always stingy. ALWAYS! You're fishing for one big fish of a lifetime cause consistent numbers truly don't exist there. It's luck or fluke fishing. Simcoe has good ice and has been fishing great this year. ;)
thanks, did he say anything about pickerel or were they just after lakers?
I have to disagree with your numbers theory. In 4 years I have had one bad year on temagami, and when I say bad it was because I didnt reach double digits on lakers each year.Quote:

Drop a few grains at a time, I use a plastic spoon as it is greasy. It will sink slowly in the water column , and attract fish. I think it makes a scent trail as well. Put some down every few minutes. We were fishing in 80 feet. but got some up top too. Worked for us.
