I need help choosing a decent scope on a budget. budget is around 200$. I need a low light scope there is so many different reticles and zoom ranges I have no clue what im doing! This will be my first scope and its for hunting coyotes and deer with a .243. Any help appreciated!
Duck, my suggestion is likely going to break your budget but I highly recommend a Redfield. This company was bought by Leupold some years ago and they are producing high quality optics. I have one mounted on my X-Bolt for deer hunting. Illumination in low light conditions is impressive. Eye relief is generous and there is minimal paralax. I have a Redfield Revoluation 3 9X 40. I bought it at Sail for about $250 out the door. You can shop for one in the US for under $200.
Cabelas has a range of scopes mounted on plastic stocks you can pick up and evaluate.
I find that two factors will increase the light gathering capability of a scope: 1. larger Objective Diameter = more light and 2. lower Magnification = more light.
Bushnell elite 3200. I have also heard great things about the vortex line up of scopes but dont have personal experience.
Bushnell Legend 1.75-5X32 are excellent glass with Rainguard. They have a fine cross-hair and lots of FOV. Amazon.ca has them for about 200.00 /free shipping. You can't go wrong, Bushnell will buy it back if not satisfied for full refund. I have newer Elites and put them on par with them glass to glass. You won't want a refund when you look through it. Glass is getting better and cheaper, just look at cameras and the prices. No need to spend a small fortune to get good glass now. If your hunting, you don't want some high powered scope you'll never be able to find your deer with in time. Things can happen fast when deer hunting and you want a scope that works fast as well.
Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 for around $220. You won't find a better scope for that price. Congratulations, your search is over...

Don't over-think it. Any of the above brand names mentioned in a 3-9 or 2-7 magnification will suit you fine. If you really want to stay on the cheap, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Bushnell Banner for around $100.
Thanks for the input im headed up to bass pro today! Gonna be checking stuff out and buying a new gun. Possibly the scope aswell!
