Mojo Batteries - Dead Ringer, Super_Nova, Allumette

I know you guys run them, and anyone else who does feel free to chime in, battery "maintenance" what do you do? Just got them and read the instructions, said to charge overnight to 7v on the multi meter which I have done, now they will sit for a few months before any use.

The instructions suggest "freshening" them up to ensure they keep a full charge, do you guys do this? if so how often / long?

Also says to charge x number for every y number of use, do you use this formula, or just charge for the day / night?

And on the babies what's your average run time before they die?

I've been Googling this morning but very inconsistent results.

Not sure what others do but I have a lucky duck with the rechargeable battery and leave it in the duck unhooked all off season and just charge and go when season comes around. I havent had a stitch of trouble with it. I've run it for 4 hours strait and still had another hunt in it without charging again. I've been looking into the baby mojos also for this year look forward to hearing the thoughts.

I do the same as pinchel in the off season, however about a week or so before season I put then on a smart charger from ct and that is what I use all season to maintain. Have found the bats last longer as the charger turns off. As for the baby mojos pinchel save your money or get the super mojo, we hunt long point and the big winds stop the motor and eventually burns them out. We run 5 lucky ducks now.

I just have a regular mojo, i always charge it all night before the hunt and have never had any issues with it

Funny, I never click on this sub-forum, but I wanted to read the thread about the GoPro and then saw you hail calling me. Odd luck.

I just throw them on the charger overnight after use. I try to take them off the next day, but have left them on much longer. I also always make sure to store them fully charged after the season. Discharged batteries can develop sulfation issues. I store them in the house, not out in a frozen shed or garage since that can also damage them.

Basically the same method I use for my marine batteries and for my pulsator batteries. It's the process recommended to me by several marine mechanics and an East Penn rep.

Also, I always buy a second battery (from Mojo, from hardware store or from local battery supply). This allows me to swap them right when I get home. Fresh battery into the mojo, mojo back in boat where I won't forget it, used battery on charge. Repeat after each hunt (when I've run the mojo).

Pretty much the same as everyone els. I don't charge my batteries until the wings slow down (usually 3-4 hunts). Always unplug the battery when not using (heard of them catching fire!!!) when I do charge them its the night before the hunt and theyre good to go for another 3-4 hunts. Off season I charge them one last time then leave them unplugged until the next season.

I found it easier to haul the mojos around in this, I have everything in here (chatgers, extra wings, the poles, ext.) Another must have is a set of extension poles for the deeper water (homemade)

I second that. I carry 2 different lengths in the boat. Buy a pieces of 1" EMT. Cut it at say 3.5' or (4') and you'll get a piece 6.5' (or (6'). Flatten 1 end of each for spiking into the bottom and you're set. No need to mess with those tin foil excuses for poles that mojo includes.

I found a 6v battery that is about 2.5 times the size of the original (think it may be out of an emergency light) that I put on ground or attach to pole when over water. It runs my Lucky Duck all day. When in field I run 100ft of speaker wire to a switch in my blind to turn on and off, found the remotes are not worth a crdu:)
