Another boat project
I recently acquired a brand new evinrude 25 hp, so i decided to get to work on my old tin can that has been sitting beside my parents house for the last couple years. The boat was given to me about 4 years ago, an old Springbok runabout that the previous owner had gutted to turn into a fishing boat. He lost interest and gave it to me, I lost interest and put it away, and now I am finally doing something with it.
Anyways, the motor I got is a remote motor, so I had to find a console/steering assembly to put in the boat. As luck would have it, I found I guy on kijiji selling a used side console complete with steering assembly, so I sprinted out and picked that up right away.
Today I began the process of framing, flooring and carpet, as well as installing the console and steering cable. All in all I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Eventually the whole thing will get a fresh coat of paint, but for now I think I'm gonna toss he motor on and use as is for a while.
Here are the pics that tell the story.Attachment 25275Attachment 25274Attachment 25273Attachment 25271Attachment 25272

I heard the story about you picking up that brand new motor last night while feasting on chicken wings with your Father .. quite the story ! Good for you and good that you're fixing up that old boat up ... it should run well with that motor .... I know I said on another post .... "get a 4 stroke Mercury or Yamaha .. " but now that its all said and done ...get an Evinrude ! BTW .. Dad says he's allowed to use it !

Haha, ya it is quite a story. I'm sure he will take advantage of the boat, I'm keeping it at his place after all!
