Has anyone seen any forecast for grouse in 2014? Not that it's going to stop us from hunting but just curious what to expect. Temagami area was a bit slower last year than in previous years and some are saying the winter will undoubtedly impact populations for 2014.
running red squrril road and some side roads seeing between 4 to 6 every time mostly all hens
That's promising news. Looking forward to some scouting during or after the bear hunt. Love that area!

I've seen great numbers of birds in various areas of the province already.
Maybe the bad winter was tough on Turkey (tag still burning a hole in my pocket) but not so bad for grouse. Good news. Thanks

Found - Im not far from Rosseau and walking the dogs in the bush last week heard grouse drumming.
only saw three birds today I figure they are probably starting to nest
