Yes, we get it - they're easy to catch, they're big and they're just as much fun to catch now as when the season opens.
But please don't target the bass on their nests. And if you do catch one, don't post pics here. It's takes quite a bit of a narcissistic streak to do that, but every year there are people who think the laws don't apply to them.

Just to expand on the message above: fish caught out of season are supposed to be released immediately. It's actually illegal to stop and pose for a picture with any oos caught fish. If you post oos pics here, you're posting evidence that you've broken the law.
I made a similar comment to a forum member who had posted a picture of them with a Bass. Some people just don't think!

Some people don't know it's illegal to target OOS bass and illegal to photograph them. Thanks for the reminder Werner. I often wonder if the Americans have the right idea. They don't close the season (as far as I know). Instead they try to educate the anglers into avoiding spawning fish.

Just tell those people to come up north here and catch all they want - the season never closes - they are a nuisance - I would prefer people target them on the nest - hopefully the population can drop and leave room for the pike and walleye fry to grow.
