Is there a public launch that you know of? I've been wanting to try that lake for years. Hoping to talk my partners into going there next week. I'll let you know how I make out if I actually get there.
Next week. 8th or 9th...
We got back from Ashigami around supper time. We ended the day getting rained out. Awesome day though. We started the day with my first fish being a 12" class Perch. I didn't get it to the boat, but about 6 feet short. We had pretty steady smallmouth action until mid afternoon when the weather began to change. between, my brother-in-law, my nephew and myself, we caught about 40 fish, mostly smallmouth with a few perch in between. We didn't connect with any walleye, although we tried a few places that looked good for them. The real highlight was my nephew and myself catching almost twin 17.5" smallies about a half hour apart. Both entered in the OFAH Angler Awards.

Be careful boating through the east arm of the lake. Many shallow shoals that are unmarked when you get into the islands. Mqke a run or two at a slower speed to find a safe route before blasting through at full throttle. The west arm seems to be deeper, although we didn't fish there. I saw the islands on Google Earth and made a plan before even hitting the water.
Thanks for the info guys, can't wait to go. I bought a fishing map of the lake and the east end of the lake looks like the place to head for walleye.
Thanks again guys and I will report how I made out.

Lowe, where'd ya get the map from? Does it show bottom contours? Let me know how accurate you think it is. I may pick one up for myself.
Ordered it online from Fishing maps plus $20, I won't know how accurate the bottom contours are until I get out there but it looks not bad.
