Mad & Pine Rivers
Hey guys,
Well I am brand new to the sport of fly fishing and am getting very excited at the prospect of mastering my cast and possibly even landing a fish or two. I have done my share of research online and have even read some of the "MNR Report cards" on some of the local river, lakes and streams in the area but I have been unable to locate the answer to my question so I was wondering if the community could shed some light on this for me.
Both the Pine and Mad rivers near Angus/Glencairn have come highly recommended to me for trout fishing. I am looking to catch some Brook trout and possibly even some rainbows if the opportunity presents itself.
I have been over to the Mad river a few times now and have had no luck. Perhaps it's my technique, perhaps its my fly choices or perhaps its due to the lack of fish in the river system.
I am just looking for someone to point me in the right direction for these guys. I'm not looking for any secret spots or anything just more or a yes or no if these guys are in there.
As for the Pine river however, I drove up to Creemore last night scouting out some of the river and it seemed to fast and shallow to hold and fish.
Thanks for any insight you may provide
p.s.
could it also be due to this heat?

Mad river runs by Creemore. The pine is south by Mansfield. They both feed into the Nottawasaga river. Look along the banks where the river curves or for fallen trees. Trout will hold up there.
