I will have to go check my salt licks, nothing was touching them last time I checked in May. What are you using?
She looks tall.
Mine have been getting hit hard as well. I use natural water softener salt as the landowner where I hunt bought a skid of it and it ended up clogging his softener and said his son and I could use it. Next time out I'll take a pic of where we dumped the salt, two HUGE holes dug there now holding water actually but the deer keep coming back I've had 8 deer at the lick at once on more than one occasion definitely that time of year!
88 is lookin good, if you're anywhere around the park though it usually does. How bout pushing some of them over into 89 for me?
that is a nice big doe.. i am heading out this afternoon with a hunting partner to do our salt / deer co'caine spots.. can't wait..
I've been putting out the compressed grain/ mineral blocks since mid June and they are getting hit hard in 53 too. But man am I getting some scrawny emaciated looking deer on the trail cam... They're just starting to look better now including a nice velvety rack (well the beginning of it).
However, this is the first time I have a trail camera out in the spring, maybe they always look scrawny in the spring. No sign of fawns yet. Anyone else get picks of fawns?
I was staying at Mont Tremblant last December. The deer there are somewhat tame. They licked the salt and Krown off the bumpers and fenders of my car.
