Finally had the chance to get the boys together and head up to our deer spot to start prepping for the upcoming season. Here are a couple of pics. The stands at just under 10ft were adding walls and a roof next weekend .

not for bow I hope...........shotgun/rifle ok
Hard to tell from the pictures, but is the sun going to be lighting you right up?
it's meant more for the shot gun season over looking soya bean fields at the edge of the bedding area.
I have a hang on that I will mount on the center tree about 5/6 ft higher than the platform
The stand is tucked in a corner we worked on it from 11-530pm and we were in the shade the whole time. We plan on boxing it in next week and covering it with a roof and we will be blacking out the inside as well. basically it's going to be a tree house. lol
We have more to build next week, any suggestion as to height, positioning, etc would be greatly appreciated.
Comfortable looking stand just be sure those floor joists are firm every year with three trees swaying in every direction
you might also want to watch for emerald ash borers in those trees!
will definitely keep an eye out for the emerald ash border.
i had the same feeling about the three swaying trees weakening the platform. we've decided on adding cross braces for support next week. the floor joists are spaced out every 12 inches. we weight tested it with approx 725lbs 3 guys (praying it wouldn't come down).
With the three trees moving in the wind the nails or screws holding the platform to the tree can break from metal fatigue. Found out the hard way a couple of years ago. Luckily noticed before fully off the ladder or would have been a bad day for sure.
I couldn't agree with you more surf. Wepurchased some 5/8 x7inch Lag screws (i think thats what their called) for extra support. werent able to install them because the tree ate my drill bit on the first attempt lol. We plan on adding those next week when we go up to complete the stand.
