Lunch Hour Training Session

15 days until our duck opener!

Usually train in the mornings before work, and then again before bed, (2 short 15-30 minute sessions)

Was tied up this morning, so went out at lunch and tossed a few marks using her blind, recorded one mark.

Was windy as all heck so muted the volume as that's all you hear over my voice and whistle, but you'll get the idea.

"Spot"
Toss Mark
"Go"
3 Whistles
She returns to feet and sits
"Heel"
"Spot"

Last year she has trouble with me going a distance from her, she would sneak a few steps when my back was turned and would try and close the gaps.

Worked on that a lot this year, building trust, if you will, that I was coming back for her, or would signal her to me.

Worked with small distance, sit, stay, id walk out a bit, and then either return to her, with treat, or signal her to me, with treat.

We did this, a lot, gradually opening up the distance, then introducing the blind so she cant see me at all.

Now I can put her on "spot" a visual mark, or the hide, at one corner of the field, and walk out to the other, back and forth, dilly dally, and she won't budge until signaled to either fetch mark, or come to heel.

Good looking dog, she defently shows the work you have put into her training. Nothing beats getting out with a well trained dog and having them show off their talent they have been taught.

Great routine, shows you've put a lot of work into this dog, and her into you, should pay off.

Yeah, my dumbazz Brit won't do stuff like that. Well done.

The secret to a good dog is trust and teamwork. Practice is the only way to get there. Nice work

I got the privledge of meeting turkeyrookie's dog this weekend and i can say they are defently a team. Watching her run full out in the field you could tell she was ready for some ducks. Nothing beats having a special bond with a good dog and spending time together in the field
