As hard as it is I try to fill the first two weeks with other hunting activities. After too many early season hunts and getting them skinny pin feathered buggers I've vowed too myself that I'll wait for them to fatten up. As much as I love hunting them eating them at their prime is icing on the cake.
i giggle every time i saw "woodcock" in all seriousness though.. id love to hunt woodcock sometime.
They are much, much smaller than geese which you claim you cannot hit, therefore you will have to do a lot of practicing at a skeet range before you go and hunt them .:) [just pulling your chain, ] it's one of those days.Quote:

may want to check your lead on geese. Clays and pigeons you want to center them up in your pattern. Geese you want to put the pattern out front more head and neck. body shot geese can carry on quite away before they drop.Quote:
