As hard as it is I try to fill the first two weeks with other hunting activities. After too many early season hunts and getting them skinny pin feathered buggers I've vowed too myself that I'll wait for them to fatten up. As much as I love hunting them eating them at their prime is icing on the cake.
i giggle every time i saw "woodcock" in all seriousness though.. id love to hunt woodcock sometime.
We came into a pile of woodcock while up north grouse hunting two weeks ago. I must have had 30 flushes, killed 2 woodcock.....
If you think geese have ninja moves you see nothing yet. :)
