recently picked up a molt gear EX3 call have been practicing for about 3 hours i can honk and somewhat cluck how ever it seems to be a little high pitched im coming from a flute im using air from my lungs and not blowing more like spitting so y basic question s are short reed calls generally higher pitched how can i make feeding calls and double clucks thanks
Geese are high pitched. High pitch crack kills birds.
That said, if the call is too hard for you to operate, meaning, it's tuned too "heavy" for you, you may sound too weak and high pitched when you operate it.
YouTube is your friend, start there and then buy Bad Grammer from Scott Thrienen....
i see ok then i think im on the right track whatched some of Bad Grammar and found the way scott calls extremely difficult IE starting with tougue at the top of your mouth. when listening though it seemed the calls where low especially the beginning of the honk
EX3 is a great call by the way.....
Well, herein lies the debate, Scott's method is not for everyone, he is a great caller though, try using the middle- back of your tongue against the roof of your mouth if you struggle with Scott's method.....Quote:

I made a huge improvement after understanding this basic principle....
I think I am going to try out the EX-REFLEX next, seems like a versatile call.
bought the EX3d and sounds too plasticky.. almost like the reed and guts are loose in the barrel. maybe i need new ones... but would rather use my magnum clucker from Knight and Hale... ( Sorry Scott).
You can get geese' attention from a lot further off with the higher pitched call. I will often switch to a different call to finish them up but not always.
What he'd this video also way better then Scott's I can't stand to hear ok and alright again haha what are most guys running for callsQuote:
