dont usually see many geese in this area for about another week or two... but then it`s hell on wings!!! birds are late this year i find though.
I have been watching( Like I do every year) the temps in the Hudson/James Bay area and north in to NU. Everything i see is forecasts that are single digits across the area. Rain mostly but there is some snow predicted so they may start moving soon.
Full colour woodies in Algonquin Park yesterday. Flocks of 30 plus are beginning in Simcoe county as I have been tracking the last few weeks. Honestly I think it's game on already. That being said I have yet to see pintails so I think we are still good. Heading out now to check up on my spots I will let you know if I see full colours down here.
While laying in the layout blind Thursday waiting for some geese to come in my buddy and I seen around 10-12 high flying flocks heading in a southerly direction. Took a coupla pics and when zoomed in to the max counted 97 birds in one flock and 73 in another. They where sure taking advantage of the strong north wind as it didn't take long to pass our line of sight. Out Friday around same time with much warmer temps and little to no wind and barely even seen any locals. I'm kinda thinking that the birds are moving with the temp patterns now.
