Hunted Sat & Sun last wknd and again this morning...Each day I have seen a different buck during each sit..have yet to have any within crossbow range but man is it ever exciting seeing those antlers come walking/running through the woods,especially being a relatively new deer hunter.
Does anyone find there is a "down time" in deer activity after the Nov. rut? Does it pick up again Early-Mid Dec.?
Right now is a great time to be out. Tons of deer activity with this warmer weather.
Over the years I've seen more rutting activity from around now through to mid December than I've seen in early November. Lots of good time left to be out there.Quote:

Well I went out to my honey hole this afternoon and a huge buck came out. He wouldn't come within range and the closest he came was around 50 yards. It had a huge wide rack and he's now on my hit list. :)
I'm hunting a small hardwood stand adjacent to 2 swamps and a pine stand... Within the last week, the scrapes have been hit really hard and activity is really high. Fun to see!
