I had posted a thread about the Wildfire II a little while ago, (check it out some great advice) and have since purchased it. I still have to go out with it but from playing around with it I think it will do the trick for me.
Thanks T.O, will check it out.
Fox Pro
No expert here, but I whipped one of these up.

I made some modifications and substitutions on parts but it's a great resource to look at if your handy.. Also the sound files work great!
If you want to go the DIY route of course
My first ecaller was a Primos powerdogg which was returned because the remote wouldn't work past 50 yards.
My second was a foxpro spitfire which worked good out to 100 yards.
My current foxpro is the fury2 which works great.
When it comes to ecaller you get what you pay for.
Spend alot get alot, cheap out and you will be sorry.
You will have enough no problem selling a used midrange foxpro caller and they retain there value
I have a Western Rivers and a FoxPro Wildfire II. The FoxPro is better hands down. The only issue I have had with the Wildfire II is it will "clip" on the max volume and have to be switched/toggled on-off to reset. However I never run it that loud and discovered the bug testing to see just how loud it would go with the stock internal speaker.
I believe after speaking with Impact here on the forum I would have gone up one or maybe two models initially for more features.
The available sounds, range and Foxbang are really good features on the Wildfire II and the optional decoy attaches to the speaker body.
Nothing wrong with the Wildfire as I did call in a couple of coyotes with it but felt that it lacked in range and volume. I exchanged for the Hellfire and what a difference. I had a great crow shoot with it last month and for giggles fired it up after dark at a wilderness camping trip sitting at a camp fire with the in-laws last Thanksgiving weekend. Well, didn't a pack open up howling in the bush and one of them came really close to us to investigate. We estimate he was no further than 100 yards howling away. Gave everyone shivers down the spine...lol. My brother in law wants me to go back during daylight hours and shoot them now...lol
Yeah, I recommend Foxpro as well!
FYI, if you are going to be hunting in cold weather ensure you have good batteries in the unit as the performance will depend on available power. This is what I use and recommend.

Also check out youtube for upgrades (calls) to older versions of of FoxPro, the cabling (printer type) is the same as newer versions and you can download other sounds (calls) and add to older versions if memory serves me right. Anyways check it out youtube..
luba,
You seem to be intent on one of two e-callers. I have a Primos AlphaDogg. I must say that I like it as it has delivered what was promised. I have operated it remotely at as far as 190 yds (they advertise 200 yd range, I think it is possible to go a little farther. Because all e-caller remotes use RF signals it is always a good idea to hang them if possible to get the best line of sight). It has 25 w speakers that are able to send out sound at high levels without distortion. The AlphaDogg can be plugged into any computer and updated with mp3 files without any need for other SW.
I have been able to download additional easily and create sequences.
It has been a good caller for me and may be worth considering.
