Got into New Liskeard last night. About a half hour south of town I saw the biggest wolf I've ever seen run out in front of the truck.
I've seen lots of wolves in and around Algonquin but nothing like this big guy.
Almost all white/light grey. Bit of black around the ears and back of head. Had to be pushing 70 lbs (my 100km/h estimate). Massive.
Would this have been an Eastern? Or just a well-fed brush/timber?
Thats a real wolf IMO.....A grey wolf.....
Some people call these Timber wolves.....Some people call the big brush wolves(half breed, red wolf whatever) Timbers.....

Sounds like a grey wolf (Canis lupus). The wolves in and around Algonquin are primarily eastern wolves (Canis lycaon).
Likely a Grey Wolf in that area
It would easily weigh more than 70lbs more like 100 -120 lbs.Quote:

40lb coyote still looks like an oversized cat after you skin em.....
