I just bought a UWay game camera (Canada In the Rough endorsed). Either I wasn't looking or they didn't advertise the battery usage. This camera uses C cells. I've never had any luck with C cells. I use Lithium AAA cells in another camera and they last over 6 months.
Anyone ever found Lithium C cells?
UWay suggests Ni-MH batteries. They must be kidding! Rechargable batteries in our cold Ontario winters.
Anyone found a solution to cameras that have a C cell format??

It is just a 6V camera (4x1.5V I bet), you could rig up a large 6V battery in a dry box with a couple leads and make something that lasts a while.
Which model of Uway camera is that? If you just bought it, I'd be looking at an exchange for a AA or AAA model.
Nobody makes lithium C cells. It would cost far too much for a disposable battery.

OK thanks guys. I will see if they will exchange for a better battery format. Failing that I have heard this camera isn't too bad on batteries. I had a Stealth Cam Rogue IR that took 8 C cells and it would eat them in less than two weeks in warm weather. Fashioning a 6V source shouldn't be hard but as soon as you start that stuff you void warranties.

I have one with c cells just used the cheapy batteries had it in the bush for a week took over 1000 pictures and the battery is still 99%
Or you can buy or make an adapter to put AA/AAA batteries in place of C. E.g.http://www.amazon.ca/Lenmar-PRO-AA2C.../dp/B000855034
I use old prescription bottles to make mine.
