Hey guys, opinions please
puttung a cap on my truck, what are the thoughts? Brand? Model? Accessories? Must haves? I use the vehicle to head north on the weekends with my Wife, 2 kids and 2 GSPs.
I see LEER, Jason industries and century caps are at the dealers around here.

Installed a "cigarette lighter" style outlet back close to the tailgate which allowed us to plug in a fan during warmer weather when we had the dogs in the back.
I don't think that they function differently across most manufactures, your choice would most likely be based on colour, shape, utility etc. There really isn't much that can go wrong with them. The price point is probably pretty close across the suppliers.
Having said that I have always had Leer's, but mainly because they come with the truck when I buy them:) Never had a problem beyond normal wear, it's just a Fiberglas box after all. I like to have air flow windows to keep down the moisture inside.
Hawk truck caps just east of Brantford on hwy 2, and Windmill truck caps in Elora has new and used. I have no personal experience with either, but know guys that have bought from both and they seem happy.
Sliding back window if you have one on your truck , also great for cleaning back window on truck. Sliding side windows and double door handles and locks on back door.
Look at having the butterfly opening side windows for easier assess to dog crates and ventilation when not in transit. Also front sliding window if your truck is equipped with a rear opening window. Roof racks if you carry a canoe or small boat.

Windmill in elora ...good guys and run a good operation..bought my tonneau cover off them and may be lookin at a cap from them next year....they install it right when ye pick it up...new and used and tons of options.

used leer for half the price of new.
give em a call or maybe check their website.
mine doesn't have a front slider, but have thought about adding it.
can get it for approx. $135 from dealer.
when I was looking to buy mine, I found that Leer and ARE had the best reputations.
