Thinking of doing a trapping course..
Probably will be doing only nuisance trapping.. unsure how active I would trap, but it is a skill that I think I would like to have.
I do know that if I only trap a few hours a year I should be a rich man.;)
But seriously..
What should I know about before I start investigating this endeavor?
I already have figured out where to take the course.
Not much needs to be done once the course is complete.... Pay for the license buy a few traps, you can pick them up at Cabelas or Basspro..... I got a few coyote leg traps from them...
There are lots of good videos on youtube that demonstrate trap setup....
I got my trappers license a few years ago but never trapped a coyote it... Tried it once but coyotes are smart, he/she/they kept digging it them out....
Its a great excuse to be in the outdoors though.....

I (farmer) have trapped more than few that were blocking my lane culvert thru the years. I decided I wanted to keep a pelt once so I took it on like I do with my rabbits. Easy work,very low investment needed , couple of hrs a day just driving around picking up cash ,usually become independently wealthy in the first season, second season become a millionaire ., third season quit and retire . Smart people quit and retire after the first day and end up richer . Us who stick it out get crippled up and risk the the chance of pleasantly dying in a cold wet grave and leave our kids hard steel for an inheritance. But heah were happy .

I have 3 buddies who each have licensed trap lines. They dure dont do it for the money.
im not planning on getting into it for the money. (or what little money)
my reasons are for the skills you learn
and the extra time that I can spend out doors..
if i got to do something i enjoy.. and at make enough for a box of ammo thats good enough for me.
