A set can be up to one hour in a location. If you have been busted or a coyote never showed its face then move on to another spot or call it quits. Hunting can be productive any time of day as buddy and I called three in last Sunday at 11:00 am.
If you're going to call, get in place, set up, get ready to shoot so you don't have to move, wait ten minutes for things to settle, use your call sequence for 35-45 minutes, if no show, wait another 15min., watching in silence, no show? Stand up to leave and be ready to shoot. lol
never call it quits !!
move on after 15-20 minutes if nothing shows has proven successful , be patient , are u using a decoy or electronic call ?
It's nice you have a local place to hunt the coyote's in the first place, but I really love the fact you have your daughter involved as well. That is really a great thing, I hunt with my wife and my brother(usually just my wife) and its always a good time just getting out and doing what we love. I am curious as to what gun you are using and does your daughter shoot as well?
