This could very likely be what was behind the sudden crash and burn of the entire team just before Christmas. It's no secret that there were personality clashes between a few high profile members before the initial meltdown. When that happens,team members "polarize" into cliques making a team into a cohesive unit an impossibility. One would wonder if the infidelity rumors were true. Something like that could certainly do it.Quote:

But cliques destroy the team concept. It takes a strong team leader to ensure the team concept remains strong. Leafs don't have a strong leader.
When your top line has the worst plus/minus in the league - you don't stand a chance.
Also (off topic) I believe the Jays have a bad clique problem in the dressing room. Bautista and his boys on one side vs the rest. Can't win that way.
Over paid men that need a reality check and #ss kicking from the owners and coaching staff to remind them how fortunate they are to be playing in the NHL. They are paid to perform(win) and set ego's aside.
