This might be a viable alternative for air conditioning small areas or maybe for keeping game cool while hanging.

Cool idea.
I love that! Would work great at fish camp in summer, when cabin temp is like 40 deg.
Could definitely be of value in an early bear or moose hunt. We have had to leave moose camp which was a 2 day drive to get to after 1 day of hunting when we were afraid of wasting a bull we shot opening morning. You could have built a tent and used that contraption to cool it down during the day. I have also seen guys pack in a full sized freezer and generator.
I thought you were going to be talking about a swamp cooler.
THis is almost the same sort of thing.
A swamp cooler uses cold well water that you trickle thru a radiator or over the surface of thin cloth, well blowing air thru the rad or cloth.
Works great for a cabin next to a cool/cold lake or river.
Pump water up to a tank that supplies the cabin and run a small line off the tank.
True southern swamp coolers rely on evaporation to cool the air. They require a very low humidity to work good. Think Arizona.....not worth setting up here in Ontario with 60-80% RH. Cool lake, stream or well water will work if you can pump the water to a radiator and blow the air around...Well water is about 50F...
