During our busy season at work there's a group of us that takes turns bringing in a hot lunch on Mondays. Pretty good gig - take your two turns and end up not having to worry about lunch for a few months worth of Mondays.
Anyhow, tried a new recipe out and took in one slow cooker of beef and one full of venison. Only had two of the ladies with some bambi comments, but the venison went faster than the beef! I kept all my pans and utensils separate to give people the choice. Was happy to see it enjoyed. Even had a few people outside the group ask for a taste. Success!
I doubled the recipe and it filled my large slowcooker:
2lbs Ground venison
2 cans kidney beans
2 cans black beans
2 cans diced tomatoes
2 onions
1 green pepper (I threw in one red too)
4 garlic cloves
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp franks (I went with more than less)
Cook the onions and garlic in some oil first. Add the venison. Cook until almost done. Heave everything in the slow cooker and cooked overnight (8 hours on low).
Quick and easy. Enjoy!
