13 inch Monster
Just thought I'd throw up a pick of a 13 incher which is very respectable for the small streams in my area. Nothing fancy just hook split shot and worm. Cheers ldub

Nice fish! All i seem to be catching is browns, they eat all the specs around here! but there definetly is a few lunkers got a nice 15 incher last year!

15 inches is very nice 13.5 is my biggest so far, you do here a story or two each year of a giant 16 to 18 inch fish being caught in the area. I have know doubt there are some big boys around, after walking these creeks for years, some spots are litterally unfishable. I also find the heaviest fishing pressure is at the road under the bridges and culverts not a lot of people willing to put in the leg work. Also it seems a lot of anglers are much more interested in chasing the bigger trout(steelhead) on the bigger systems.

Idub, beauty creek speck, was up in that neck of the woods myself, a little west of you and got one about that size and a few others a little smaller, but these creeks sure do change over the years from deadfalls changing currents, not catching fish in all the regular spots and having to find new areas in the creek to fish.
was a great day to be in the bush though..

Thanks guys, sure can't complain, no shortage of spots to fish all within a short drive. I have to admit I'am a little spoiled with lots of smaller fish. I find myself always searching for the new PB although I never get tired of making that perfect cast up against a log and have a feisty 8 incher rip my line. I only keep a few for the pan, and let the rest swim. I've lived in this general area and still find new spots every year it seems.

nice spec fella hoping to get out for some myself next week end keep your line tight

Nothing like the surprise of finding a big brown in that little speck stream!
Just put a similar speck into the freezer until I get a matching one so I can cook them together. One of the joys of a wife who has developed a taste for trout in the past few years.....if I only cook one I just get to pick the bones.
