Nanofil

Been having a few issues with my nanofil, its new on the walleye rod this month. Anyone else have problems with it?

No issues for me. I like it a lot.

Maybe i picked up a bad spool, after i tie on a jig sometimes it breaks when i give it a good snap

I still wet the knot before tightening and use a palomar knot, I found that the old standby improved clinch didn't hold very well.

Some knots will pinch and cut it self

I used the Palomar knot and wet it also, the clinch slips or cuts itself like pmannat said. Had no issues with it last night, so maybe it was just a poor section of line. Had trouble with the line this winter it was breaking on the hook set, that was 2 lbs nanofil and could of been on the shelf for a long period of time too.

Only had issue with it while ice fishing, good for soft water.

It was 2 lb test? And you say it breaks on hook sets?

Yep 2 lbs nanofil, it was on my ice fishing rod for crappie, so i really was not even setting the hook, more of a sweep. The one time it happened the line was caught on the hole after it broke. I grabbed it and hand bombed the fish up and it was only a 9" Black Crappie.

Last time I used 3lbs test line I broke on a 10" perch too. Haven't use anything less than 6lbs since and still catching fish.
