This summer I plan on painting my old mallards and turn them into divers. I have already read up on what paint to use and how to do it. But I was thinking, has anyone tried using that Plasti Dip stuff? I know people use it on there lead weights so it won't chip the paint on there decoys because it finishes with a rubbery feel. Just wondering if anyone has tried it on the actual decoy.
I used to use Plasti-Dip to make molds, usually of plastic type materials ... the Plasti-Dip would peel off the plastics easily ... you may want to test to be sure it will stick to your decoys, you may have to make it wrap around in order to keep if from falling off.
Wouldn't it be too shiney ? We always used a flat or maybe a satin outdoor acrylic paint or a cheap "rust" type paint. Give them a good wash/scrub with TSP, helps the paint stick.
I don't think it would be to shiney. From what i have seen its a dull matte appearance.
How does it look? More grey on top?

Not really a paiting question but i figure id jack my old threat instead of making a new one. I have some cracks on the bottom of goose floaters infront of the keel, how do you guys repair your dekes? Would JB Water weld work?
