Flies For The Summer

As I am close to starting my bass season (this weekend) I have been busy tying flies for bass and pike. Some I have fallen in love using (poppers), while others I'll be trying out for the first time. Tying these flies for me, are just as fun tying as it is catching fish. Catching a fish with a fly you made makes it a little more special. So here are the variety of flies I'll be using this summer. Im most interested in hearing how your mouse fly works!!

I have never used one and I'm pretty sure I'm missing out

I'll be trying that mouse out soon. I also didn't include a handful of my pike flies. I will post back hopefully this weekend with some fish pics. Maybe even bring the GoPro and try getting it on video.

I love Bass on a fly! Great job man. And not too shabby casting from a kayak either! Those can be big heavy flies. Good work! I find the smallies in Muskoka like the bunny leech in a variety of colours. But nothing beats topwater. Thanks for sharing. Tight lines.

Bass and pike on top water flies are a riot. The strikes are huge and half the time the pike miss completely but still fly a foot out of the water. Perfect for those dog days of summer when trout are hunkered down. Nice flies. Good luck.
