Amazing! Anyone who thought there was any glory in the incredible horrors of The Civil War needs a psychiatrist. Our oldest son is a teacher of high school history and just completed a tour of Civil War battle sites. He also visited Ford's Theater and said it was very moving tour. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for your post. That is truly humbling. I am Canadian and I have been to a few the sites. The way that you put them into perspective with commentary and comparative photos is fantastic. Thank you.
The really crazy part is that many of those photos are actually doctored. I had a history teacher who had a book on propaganda where it shows before and after pictures that were released to the public. The reality was that things were a lot worse than what was sent out, these sites were probably cleaned up before the pictures were taken.
It is amazing to see all the joy on the same sites as such pain.
