1st Lake Ontario Brown

Was out Friday morning and got chased off the lake. Those were the biggest waves we have tried to fish all year. After Half an hour and starting too feel a bit ill it was time to leave.

Saturday we were back at it. Meat hasn't worked for us the last 2 weeks but it was hot on Saturday. We went 4 for 5 with 4 hits coming on a meat / flasher off dipsy down 100-120 on #3. This accounted for 2 low 20# kings, 1 shaker we released and 1 knock off.

The other hit was a first time ever for me Brown. He hit a black / silver cheater spoon on an inside turn in front of Newcastle in about 80'. Not 2 seconds after he hit was he about 3' out of the water, it was cool to see.

Beautiful fish and very tasty! I'll have to consider mounting the next one if I ever get so lucky.... this one took 6 years :-)

Nice Brown , I'll be waiting for his brother up stream some time soon.

That brown has definitely made my week. I love catching something different!

Nice fish.....nowadays you don't have to bring the fish in to get mounted....a few pics and some measurements and it can be eaten or released...

Thanks for the tip Frank, next time I'll take measurements as I'd love to have this on the wall in the man cave. I have no problem releasing some salmon but this guy tasted amazing!

Beauty Brown Jeff. I used to catch them right from shore behind Confederation Waterpark (not sure if it's still there) fairly regularly. I'm not sure if they're recommended for eating out of Lake O. I recall way back when, when they weren't.

Thanks :-). I didn't check the consumption guide but in either case they are delicious. 1 every 6 years likely won't be a problem :-)
