Summer Vacation in the Maritimes
Load up the kids and wife in the truck, the trailer is ready and we are off on our grand adventure. First destination is PEI for a week. Lucky for us there happens to be some extended family there with property on the coast. On arrival the weather is a little gloomy but that won't stop us from enjoying ourselves. After a quick setup and having supper I discuss our plans with our hosts and he says we can go clamming right away seeing as the tide is low. Well kids put your rubber boots on and grab a shovel the adventure begins.

This is the bounty for the first outing, the kids are now hooked and we go out every night in search of these goodies. Razor clams were also found aplenty but left to be found again, along with a few crabs.

Well the weather just isn't getting any better so no beach days were had. But fishing was on the menu anyways. Tried a few locations with no luck, but after talking with the neighbors I have a new location to try. So Friday morning we are of on this adventure. Get on location and it's a tiny creek, I have my doubts as to it's fish holding abilities. I try a few casts with the borrowed fly rod and immediately have a few bumps. It's on kids they're here. Fish like these were caught for the next 2 hours. Beautiful little brooks and Daddy here now needs a fly rod for himself. Now we have to leave and continue our adventure farther east to Cape Breton.

Lots of fun and beautiful views, then off to the bay of Fundy where we tried for some striped bass without success but still had fun.

Our adventure is now over and even if we had two weeks of non compliant weather we had a blast and everybody wants to go back to the island. Oh and daddy picked up a fly road at cabelas on the way home...though it remains fishless....
