Need help with my Lowrance Elite-5 DSI
So I just bought a used boat that has a Lowrance Elite 5 DSI unit on it. I am trying to find some information on how to use the transducer and the navionics GPS.
The transducer comes with 455kHz and 800kHz frequencies, I can choose either one or a combo of both 455/800. Now I understand that the combo is for "down scan imaging" but when I choose it it splits the screen, is this normal? When would you use the 455 or the 800 and in what situation?
Is there anybody that is familiar with the navionics chip? I live in Waterloo and will be fishing a lot of inland lakes and close to the shore of Erie and Georgian Bay. I have the choice of choosing Navionics coastal Canada, Navionics coastal and Navionics inland maps. Which one out of the 3 should I use and what will each one do? Thanks
