It's been a real grind for sharptail in Alberta this year, at least in my usual areas put on a pile of miles on the boots, dogs and the truck...haven't fired a shot yet. today we move 3 sharptail (spooky and jumped way long) and 4 hen pheasant.

We hunt up land for the dog anyways. Here same thing. Grouse seem to be in a high cycle so a few more in the bag than usual. Woodcock seem to be steady however waiting for the migration to begin. So in the second picture what is the significance of the blue belt?

FFF the blue belt is an ecollar and is used in transition from the whoa post, using extremely low constant stimulation to stop your dog with the collar , eventually using a single collar on the neck constant to stop and momentary to cue or turn your dog. That's the huntsmith method I have used.
