Two major mistakes made, and she paid the price.
This isn't whether it is a hinged gun or not. This is a hunter not being safe. This would have happened using any type of gun hinged or not. Hunter lays gun on ground without safety, dog blows hunters toes off. The end.
Could you not just open the action of a pump gun? What about the slide lock on a semi? Open the bolt if you shoot a bolt? I see no difference between opening a hinge and opening any other action.Quote:

I carry my double broke open and on my shoulder most of the time, only close to shoot the bird and back open again. This is of course over a pointer which is no place for new fangled pumps or autoloaders that are in fact a sign of the devil.
Yes but you don't have to unload a break action. Just crack it and at that point the worse your excited hunting dog will do is scratch it.Quote:
