Late Nipigon Report

Well all the rods are put away for another season, the only thing not put away was this post and now it's time to put it to bed.

We've always wanted to fish Nipigon and this year we decided we will and we did. We spent 1 week on the lake with Onaman River Resort and weren't disappointed at all. Rob, the lodge owner, was great in ensuring that our week was enjoyable and memorable. The accommodations were clean and large for the 3 of us. Rob gave us all the information we needed to venture out on the big lake and very considerate with his knowledge and techniques.

Thanks goes to Moosebunk for your insight, write ups and pics. The anticipation was high. I must say, I've never seen a bunch of old guys act like 16 year olds for a whole week, the pranks kept coming and kept coming all week. The 3 of us grew up together, hunted together and fished together for over 55 years, yet this was the first major trip that we made together to Lake Nipigon and prior to this we only wished and dreamed about it. Bucket list check.

It will not be the last trip to Nipigon, next years accommodations with ORR has already been arranged and set.

Awesome! I'm hoping to get up there for some fishing next year. I moose hunt near onaman lake, but haven't had the time to do any serious fishing. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to chime in so late Elvis. Had been offline a couple weeks while working in Nunavut starting just after you posted this.

Very happy you enjoyed yourself and knew you would. It's hard to go wrong up in that country as fishing aside, it feels remarkable being in such vast and humbling wilderness. Rob is a great fella and I better drop what I'm doing and say hello soon. Love his company. Your going back will be just as much fun as the first time. You'll build on what you learned and find even more success on the water each time you go. Glad to see it come together for ya dood!
