Well we headed North for the second week of deer with 5 doe tags & 5 buck tags to WMU 56 Just off Pine Springs Rd On Highway # 35 65 year old camp with lots of experience During the moose hunt 3 weeks earlier we had seen good signs of deer. Sighted the rifles in Sat & headed out in our groups early Sunday morning Well it was brutal to say the least 5 days of no sign at all no tracks no poop no scraps Nothing !!! heavy rain all day thursday & friday no hunting at all We did have one fellow see a deer on the 4 th day but unfortunately he was relieving him self away from his gun when a doe walked in behind him :moose:Not sure what is worse missing a deer or not having your gun close too you We cut his shirt tail off anyway LOL !! Good Food Good Fun had by all Looking forward to giving things a try next year again with more pre hunting bait set ups and camera's to see whats going on Good Luck In 2016 boys Stinger !!!!!!

I also have a camp in 56 and it was quiet as well but it still sounds like you had some good times and that is what it is all about, a kill is a bonus.

Sounds like you're hunting in the Hindon deer yard. It used to be filthy with deer back in the late 70's - mid 1980s, after it had been heavily logged. Forest succession has turned that whole area into moose habitat now. A good bush to hunt if you can draw a moose tag.

Yuup for sure The old boys did really well back in the day They pulled Moose out with a sleigh and a team of horse's The deer have really dropped off the last 10 years due to the logging not much we can do till the new growth comes back For sure the Moose sign is unreal every where we go You hit the nail on the head thought getting a tag is the hard part 3 years in a row 12 guys applying no tags Tuff hunting for calfs when all you see is big bulls and cow's wandering everywhere

I saw four bucks closer to 118. Missed on a dandy buck on Saturday. Seven days in the woods with only one shooting opportunity. Oh well, heading to Alberta this week for ten days. I should be lucky out there.
