Nice to hear about this sort of thing.
This article glosses over the fact "His truck was also seized by the provincial civil forfeiture office, and he was forced to give up his two rifles."...apparently it was a $37K truck !!!

Im glad he got caught and they fined him and confiscated the tools used in the crime (the truck and rifles) gets another guy that thinks rules dont apply to them out of the woods. Too bad they couldnt get his hunting partner as well.
I can't remember the last time a court (in Ontario) hammered poachers like that. Most of the time,JP's routinely return vehicles to the accused,especially if they have liens on them,even if they were ever siezed in the first place. Actually,when was the last time we heard of firearms being siezed?Quote:

So second guy was charged in killing but aquitted due to the fact the prosecutors couldn't prove he was other hunter? Didn't he aid charged party by unsuccessfully trying to load moose carcus into truck & then leaving animal to spoil?
