With the 2015 bow season winding down to a few last hunts, I thought I would share a small collection of the bucks that myself and hunting partners have collected on our trail cams throughout the year. All of the pictures were captured on 3 different properties in WMU 64a, 66a, and 67 (Ottawa valley). Unfortunately, we haven't harvested any of these beauties, but it's still good seeing them on the cams. I hope I can post a picture before Jan, 1st of us holding one of these brutes.

yeah these are awesome bucks. I'm only a beginner so to me they look big enough to harvest but I'm just kind of clue less. What is the smallest buck you would ever take?
Everyone has their own personal set of rules when it comes to bucks and much of it will depend on where you hunt and what the deer population is like. If I were just starting out like yourself, I would be happy to put my tag on the first legal deer that presented me with a good shot. Pay no attention to what the folks do on Wild TV, that's not reality...lol.Quote:

If you find that you love venison and meat is your primary goal, the smaller bucks taste better but have a little less meat. If the thrill of the chase and big racks are what keep you in the field, you might want to wait until a big fella comes along and pass on the smaller ones. My own set of rules changes a bit from year to year depending on who I'm hunting with, which area I'm hunting in, and how much time I have for deer hunting throughout the season. I hunt for meat primarily, but I like shooting a big buck just a much as the next guy.
